Should I upgrade my cpu or gpu ?

I currently have an i3 4170 and a Sapphire r7 360 2gb edition. I know that I need to upgrade both to keep up with some triple A games. I can currently run high-ultra depending on game on 1600 x 900 monitor.

BF1: EASILY runs on highest setting possible (Ultra) with around 50- 70 fps
Rainbow 6: Runs on medium textures and ultra everything else with 30fps locked?

If u gonna upgrade ur monitor to 1080p ,then get a gtx 1060 or Rx 570/580 but within 2months ,there are rumors of nvidia and amd new GPUs like gtx 1070ti and amd vega 11 GPUs .Also coffeelake awaits release next month .So I suggest wait for few weeks

Alright, so I should upgrade my monitor to a 1080 right now? I have one in the garage. After that, get a new gpu between now and November?
