Should I upgrade my CPU or GPU?

My current build:

Fx-9590 16gb ram

Gtx 1050 ti

700w psu

I'm thinking about getting a gtx1080
But I don't know if my CPU is gonna throttle the card or not, so that made me think about getting a 8600k and 16 gigs of ddr4, but the problem is I can only afford one of the two, so what do you think?

Your CPU will not properly handle a 1080. You're looking at a very big bottleneck. It doesn't mean games won't run, it means you won't see much of an improvement in FPS. My backup PC is an FX 8320 that was overclocked to 4.6. It couldn't even feed my R9 390x when I benchmarked and tested it with games and synthetic software.

As said above. You'll get a severe bottleneck. Your probably bottlenecking your 1050 ti.

AMD FX wasn't that great when it came out, much less so nearly a decade later.

With the GPU market in turmoil right now I'd swap out the CPU/MB/RAM first, that way you'll have a stronger platform to build on later.
