Question Should I upgrade my CPU or GPU?

Hello,

I am recently saving money for an upgrade. I have a system with 8GB of ram, a AMD Ryzen 1600 and a 1050Ti. I am looking forward to upgrade to 16GBs of ram and buy either a new graphics card or CPU. If I go for CPU I will probably go for the Ryzen 2700 since it's on sales and if I go for a graphics card then I would go for the RTX 2060. The main reason I wanted to upgrade my PC is because whenever I record on OBS, it pops an error that the encoding is overloaded. Do you think that upgrading my GPU will fix it or should I upgrade my CPU?

GPU: ASUS GTX 1050ti (don't remember the exact one)

PSU: Corsair 750x

I think your CPU is plenty fast and can support an RTX 2060 no problem.
Your PSU is large enough to support an RTX 2060.
If I were to choose....I would upgrade the GPU and not the CPU.
....as far as "will it fix the error"....I really don't know.

Thanks for the advice. I am kind of thinking on upgrading the CPU too I just to see more opinions regarding that.

I'd say upgrade GPU too. Yu'll get much more benefit from the RTX 2060 than you would from the 2700.

I'd say the CPU is good for a couple more years of gaming at least.

Look at it this way.
I am currently on an i7-2600k (4c/8t) cpu
You have 6c/12t cpu
It's about 25% faster than mine and I have a 2060 in mine, and I can max everything out at 1080p
