Should i upgrade my cpu to Pentium g4560? (Dell Inspiron 580)

I have a dell inspiron 580 computer, with RX 460 graphics card. My cpu bottlenecks my gpu and i have decided to upgrade my CPU to a gaming budget one, and i found the best to be the Pentium g4560 at that price. So is that chip compatible with my motherboard?

No, you shouldn't.
1st - you can't. Your motherboard doesn't support it.
2nd - Pentium g4560 is not that much better than i5 650. Only about 30-50%.

i have to disangree, my cpu is very weak for gaming, it even bottlenecks my graphics card on cs go. How do you know that my motherboard does not support it ?

Yeah that won't work as menitoned above. You would need to upgrade you CPU, motherboard and ram for that build for a small increase in performance. I wouldn't upgrade to anything less then an i5 7000/6000 series or amd R5 1600/1500X.

Your motherboard does not support it because it has a different socket.

i5 650 socket 1156
g4560 socket 1151

Different pin layout, ram requirements, etc. It simply will not work.

an i7 880 would give you 4 more threads but the upgrade would only help in well threaded games assuming it works with your motherboard. Being a pre-built there is no guarantee.

love how the pentium g4560 is better and half the price than a first gen i7 . Idk why things don't get cheaper.
