Should I upgrade my GPU?

The current GPU I'm using is the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 Ti OEM.

I used to be a heavy DayZ player but since then I've stopped because of how frustrating and buggy the game is.

But anyways, I now play a lot of GTA V an I get extremely good FPS in some places, but when I'm out in a forest or somewhere where there's a lot of vegetation I drop down to about 20 - 30 FPS.

My CPU and RAM is:
CPU: i7-4790k
RAM: 16 GB

I'm thinking of upgrading to a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950, 960, 970 or 980.

How do you think they will compare to my old one? and is it worth paying a higher price for the 980 versus the 950?

I'm going to be playing at 1080p 60hz.

Thanks in advance! :pt1cable:

Hello!

For 1080p a 970 is the best for you money. There are no games it cannot run comfortably at 60+fps at 1080p.

A 980 would be a bit overkill for 1080p, if you're considering moving to a higher resolution like 1440p for example, then consider a 980 as a possible upgrade.

Hope this helps!
An Alienware x51 PSU, it's external... I wanted to build a custom but my parents had already ordered that over expensive crap...

if you have the 330w brick you are basically limited to gtx 960 max, which isnt worth the money over what you have already

some people have run reference gtx 970's with the r2 version

most likely a reference gtx 970 would work, but you would need to use the nvidia software to limit its power consumption and heat AND you need the r2 power board
