Hi,

Im currently using a Gigabyte GTX660 OC version.

Was tempted to get a 780 once 900 series is out.

However, 780 is much more power consuming then my 660 and a 770.

Therefore, my question here is, should i go for a 780, a 770 or stick with my 660 and wait for 900 series to drop price, which will take another while.

I usually game on a single screen at 1080p resolution. Playing watchdogs might stutter abit.

Is 660 worth an upgrade now or do i still hold on to my 660 for now.

Only intending to get the 700 series once 900 is out due to the price drop.

However, need advice whether is it worth? And also a 770 or a 780?

Am looking at both the Asus and Evga card.

Any advice/opinion will be much appreciated! =]

You won't want a 780 after the 970 comes out. The 970 is supposed to be faster and considerably cheaper.

In terms of the GTX 770, it has already received a decent price drop. It would be a significant performance upgrade over your GTX 660, ~40%. That's definitely going to be your bang for the buck option, but rule out the GTX 780 at this point until September 19th when the GTX 970 is released.

What I would do... If your desperate for a gpu right now, Buy a 770 EVGA card now, Then use there Step up program they have to bump yourself up to a better card.

EVGA Step up : http://www.evga.com/support/stepup/

I'd personally wait, rather than going through all the hassle later on. The new series release is literally right around the corner. Meaning price drops are abound~! Just be patient a short while longer and either hop on the 970/980 bandwagon and cross your fingers, or get a better priced 780/780TI that week.

A 660 is still viable enough for the very short time being. Better to be patient and do nothing in the meantime

Read the step up program specifications. Once you decide to step up, it may take days or weeks before you're approved, and you might not get approved. It depends on the number of people in the step up queue at the time. What do you think will happen to the step up queue when the 900's appear? That's right. You will wait weeks or even months for approval.

In addition, I think it's foolish to put yourself at the mercy of one company. Upgrade on your terms.

Regarding on the step up program, im not eligible as im from Singapore.

If im getting, will be getting thru Amazon. Asus 780 cost $439.99 and Evga 780 cost $514.99. And i dont mean the refrence model.

Im just concern on overkillimg for 780 when gaming on 1080p on single monitor. As ive read tt 770 is more den enough and 780 is only 15% faster.

I do know 780 is also more future proof, but if im not wrong, 780 targets more to people who uses 2screens and above.

You are correct, but what can more power hurt? You'll be helping yourself later on.

Asus vs EVGA, both extremely well rounded cards. EVGA does have the best customer service you can get.

But as stated before, we highly encourage you too wait until the new Nvidia cards come about, Lower prices on cards etc.

Yea, intending to get after 900s is out. But deciding on a 770 or a 780 in my case.

Asus cooling seems bettervand with higher potential and EVGA customer support is great. But i not sure whether their custoner support will be as good here in Singapore? As the shops here, only few carries the EVGA cards

$400 US, which is cheap for Titan/GTX 780 type performance. That's about $100 US less than a GTX 780.

That's the whole deal about this week's Maxwell release. Reports are expecting them to be cheaper and faster, and consume less power than current options. You won't want a GTX 780 after these are released. AMD has already gone into damage control mode by lowering the price of their 290X to compete.
