Should I upgrade my i5 655k?

I'm thinking about upgrading it to i7 880 but I don't know if it's worth it. Unfortunately ASUS P7P55D-E PRO doesn't support any newer i7s and I really don't want to change my motherboard.

if you plan on gaming i say its best ypu stay with the i5 as it has similart performance to the i7 in games .. however if you do renderind and decodinga and stuff like that then the i7 would be the better one for you ...both are great cpu's

There are going to be only minimal gains going from the 655 to the 880 you probably won't even notice the difference. the only plus the 880 has is hyper threading, and if you are just gaming it isn't going to help you anyway.If it were me I would save the money and buy a new motherboard and CPU combo, and then sell your current CPU and motherboard to recoup some of the money.
