Here is my build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/P64G4D

Now, I am thinking about taking out the i5 4690k and gifting it to a friend, and upgrading myself to an i7 4790k - the reason being is because I want to possibly stream my games as well as start video editing in the near future. I hear i7's are good for that sorta thing and have hyper threading, etc.

My question is, is it really worth the extra (approx.) 150 dollars to upgrade? Or will my i5 suffice?
I plan on overclocking in the near future, would an overclocked i5 do me well in video editing or will the lack of hyperthreading still hold me back?

Yes the i5 will do fine streaming, but f the upgrade can be had to the best possible cpu on the 1150 aocket can be had for an extra 150 dollars I say do it. The zeon is also good but the extra 600Mhz is also a good deal and then to have the ability to overclock more is going to be worth it.

Video encoding/decoding/editing will all be a fair amount quicker and worth it.

As stated, in video editing the i7 will make a huge impact since the i7 has hyperthreading and thus will be able to do (real world) 80% more simultaneous processes/threads.
