Question Should I upgrade my i7 4770k

So I've read a lot of post about upgrading the 4770k not quite being worth it stuff, but I just wan't an answer cut in clear for my situation.

I mainly play Fortnite on a semi-high lvl wanting to reach new heights. The goal is to boost my FPS to 240+ when I play.
I play as optimal as possible for higher FPS but only stable on 160 ish

My specs are:
RTX 2060
i7 4770k
16gbs DDR3 ram
Msi z97 Gaming 7

Is it worth to upgrade my CPU to a 8th gen cpu+
With the afterthought that upgrading my CPU means new Motherboard for compatibility and DDR4 ram
And if worth it, any tips on which motherboard I should get with the CPU?

I don’t think a CPU upgrade would help you much in this instance. To reach over 240 it looks like you will need a RTX 2080.

If you have a 144hz monitor 160 should be fine as long as its stable. An 8th gen cpu isn’t gonna boost You far over 200, you would need a 2080 or something like that. If you get a new CPU you would need a new motherboard and new ram(DDR4). If you don’t want to spend too much the i5-9400f is a great budget CPU or the 9700f but it is more expensive.
