Hi, I am thinking of upgrading all the components ( since I have bought monitor and gpu recently, otherwise my question would be: should I buy a new rig. lol)
Here's my specs:
asus p8p67. corsair hx 650w
i5 2500k OC -4500, cooler hyper 212 evo
evga gtx 980 ti SC+ acx 2.0 +
corsair vengeance 1600 ddr3 8gb
asus pg279q

I want to get 6700k with asus maximus hero VIII atx, 16gb ddr4 2666 and a new psu evga supernova g2 850 and a new case Corsair graphite 760T with H100i GTX.

My question is: Should I wait for future gen cpu and gpu?... which will be most likely just a slight improvement.
and also am I gonna get more fps on Witcher 3 and 2016 games?
here is the link of witcher 3 gameplay with msi afterburner video record. I'm getting 40-50 fps.

p.s. With hairworks off and shadow quality high I'm getting somewhere around 70fps

Your cpu is still good because you got it overclocked, I would recommend you to stick to the i5 another year and then buy the i7 since the prices will drop and you just dont really need a better cpu right now if it is just for gaming...

yea, probably I should wait till prices drop on them. I just wanted to hear from someone who has that build and if they're getting more fps

I do have a pc with a 6700k skylake i7 and it does like 4-5fps more than a i7 4770k so definitely wait because intel hasnt changed single core performance much that is needed for gaming, most games still dont Use more than 4threads

Alright, I decided to build(upgrade) a new pc. specs: i7 6700k, gtx 980 ti, 16Gb ddr4 RAM, Kraken X61 lq, Asus maximux hero VIII z170, samsung evo 850 512Gb, evga supernova G2 850.
No OC and I'm getting stable 95 fps on Rainbow Six Siege on 1440p ultra settings. on my previous build it was around 50 fps with OC!!!
also with no OC Witcher 3 is yielding 5-10 fps more. dota 2 is close to 144 fps instead of 100-110 fps with my old build.
I don't know if it was worth to upgrade for Witcher 3., maybe if I OC I'll get more out of it ...and maybe I'll add 2nd GPU later.
So, if anyone wants to SLI, 2500k is definetely is a bottleneck., Btw IMO 8gb ddr3 is also not enough
