My Build right now is

Ryzen 5 1600

8gb DDR4

Currently I am using a Tv as a monitor. Should I bother getting a 144hz monitor?
If so my budget is like $350

As stated by omegadoom13, a monitor is much better option than your TV for gaming. Now if yours was a high end 4k or even a 1080p TV with a high refresh rate mode, then that would be a different story. For a 144hz monitor, you can buy the ones I mentioned (make sure they have gsync), but for $200 more there are better options. What type of TV and how far away is it? If you really want a 144hz monitor, here are two that are well within your price range. Many go for $400 and up so you may consider a 120hz monitor if desired.

Asus VG278Q
Acer KG271 Cbmidpx

Its a samsung 1368x768 resolution about 2-3 feet in front of me

Yes. Gaming experience/general use will be much better than the tv monitor you've been using.

Look into gsync monitors since you're using gtx 1060. You don't have to get a monitor with gsync.

if you plan to buy an amd gpu to replace your nvidia card, then a freesync monitor is an option.

look up freesync vs gsync if you're unfamiliar with either one

You may even consider a 60hz widescreen monitor as there are many out there that fit your budget, and have higher quality than 144hz monitors that go for $350.
