[SOLVED] Should I upgrade my motherboard for Ryzen 5000?

Hello everyone! So back in 2017 I bought a AX370 Gaming K7 motherboard with my 1700x CPU. My question is, is there any REALY good reason to change it for a new one considering it is supposed to work on the 5000 series?

You will have to. X370 will not support it. B450/X470 is the cut off.

I linked the motherboard website and it states that it will support it. ( Supports AMD 3rd Gen Ryzen™/ 2nd Gen Ryzen™/ 1st Gen Ryzen™ )

Zen 3 is 4th gen/5000 series. Zen 2 is 3rd gen, Zen + is 2nd Gen.

Example:

R5 1600x is Zen - 1st Gen
R5 2600x is Zen + - 2nd Gen
R5 3600x is Zen2 - 3rd Gen
R5 5600x is Zen 3 - 4th Gen

They skipped 4000 series, for non APU's, due to the odd segmentation of the APU's being on an older process, and to lessen confusion.
