I have a pc with the 2600x cpu and x470 board. I want to get the 3700x when its out, but not sure if i want to get the x570 when thats out too. would i lose performance? is it worth paying extra?
No need to upgrade the motherboard, unless the 3700X is simply incompatible(shouldn't be the case). You'll just need to update the BIOS of the X470 board when the right one comes out, and your board will run the 3700X without issues. No performance loss should be there, but there's no way of being sure until the 3700X is tested on an X470 board.
