[SOLVED] Should I upgrade my pc or buy a new one?

So my current build:
AMD Fx-8350
Gtx 760
12 gb of Misc ram speed: 800
LSP ulta PSU 750W
Mobo: Gigabyte-ds3p rev 2.0

Disclaimer: This pc i bought off some guy on craigslist, Bought it out of pure need not actually what i want.

I am needing another persons opinion on this. Should i upgrade my pc? If so to what specs would be the best? My budget is around $500 I know its not a lot but id like the best i can get my money worth. If its even possible to get a better system then this one is offering. That said if there is anything i should ask/know about regarding the person from craigslist please let me know.

Or should I go with a person on craigslist that ive bought from before and has had prefect experiences.

Gtx 1070 8gb
i7 3700k
16gb 2400 mhz i think.
Corsair 80+ Bronze/silver i think.

There's not much worth upgrading in the first one; dead platform, old GPU, junky PSU. For incremental upgrades to make sense, you needed to have started this a long time ago.

Not sure the second is all that appealing. It kind of leaves you in the same boat of having a dead platform you can't really upgrade. You need to break the cycle of having to replace entire PCs, not continue it.

I'd continue shopping around. I'd save a little more and get something modern, even if you add a used GPU to it. Prices for things like PSUs are a little weird now, so it makes sense to wait a bit.

I would replace a few parts and re-use the chassis and drives from your current system.
do not "upgrade" to a 7 generation old CPU

the B450 board can take a 3 series ryzen.
the motherboard/All Parts can be swapped out easily.
your current case is housing a Full ATX board so there will be plenty room in that chassis for future growth to a larger motherboard if you chose.

no harder than any other machine to upgrade. old out-in new
