I currently have an Athlon 64 x2 5600+ processor and is planning to upgrade this december to at least an Intel pentium G3258, im still playing games that was released on 2009-11 and no plans yet to playing newer games, should i upgrade my CPU now since some of the games im playing like Assasin's Creed is being bottlenecked by my CPU but some other games play still good like Borderlands, or should i hold off for another year since im still playing old games, BTW my GPU is an old Radeon HD 5670 thank you,

i3 4150 is 25% faster than G3258 . No need of expensive motherboars and coolers for overclocking . And now is selling for only $89 !

Edit: i hope they will launch a fix for the two games that rufuse to run on G3258 as soon as possible . Not for me , of course

why did you say its a bad solution, vs the i3 is the hyperthreading really a game changer for the price difference?

I'd simply avoid the Pentium because of what has happened with Dragon Age Inquisition: it simply won't launch on any system that has a CPU with less than 4 threads. A lot of games are calling for quad core CPUs now, and we could well see more games in the future that simply won't launch at all with a dual core CPU that doesn't have Hyperthreading, even if it is the Pentium anniversary edition overclocked to 4.8GHz.
