Should I upgrade? Need opinions

So I currently have a i3-4170 and gtx 750 ti 2gb, 1tb wd blue, asrock h97 pro4, 8gb ram, recently water spilled inside my case and ruined my graphics card, I was originally just gonna buy a 1050 for around 150 and call it a day but I was planning on instead buying a ryzen 1500x, gtx 1060, and a b350 mb for around 411, I'm on the edge on wether I should do it or not, its a pretty expensive upgrade in my cost but it will be able to run games I play for a long time, whats your opinion?

I3-4170 is a pretty good gaming processor.

I suggest you buy your GTX1060 card upgrade and see how you do with your current cpu.
Fast action games are most dependent on the graphics card, not the cpu.

It depends on the game.
Since you are going to buy a graphics card upgrade first, do that and find out for YOUR games.

I3-4170 has a good single thread performance which is what sims, mmo and strategy games want.
If you play multiplayer games, that is where more than 4 threads are good.
For fast action, a good graphics card is most important.
