Hey guys, I've been considering upgrading my current gaming computer to a Z170, but am wondering if it is worth waiting for the next socket.

My current specs are:

CPU: i7 4770 (non-K version)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD3H
GPU: MSI GTX 970
RAM: 16gb 1600mhz
SSD: Samsung Evo 500gb
HDD: 1TB 7200rpm
PSU: EVGA 750 G2

Nope not worth spending the money on a new board, processor, and memory for less than 10% (or 0 to negative increase depending on the processor you buy) performance increase.
You would need all of that to use a Z170 motherboard. With the possibility of buying a new windows key.
If your having performance problems when gaming wait a wile till the price of the GTX 1070 goes down ( should be in quarter 4 of this year when AMD releases their top of the line new cards) or a GTX 980ti if you can find a cheap one.
Most of the time unless you just buy a low end processor you can get about 3 generations out of it before you really need a upgrade and as of now with that processor their been only 1 real upgrade.
