Should i upgrade the rest of my PC for the GTX 1080?

Hiya, im looking to buy the new gtx 1080 and was wondering whether my entire pc would need an upgrade aswell. also if i where to upgrade would i be able to send any of my old parts and use the money i make from selling them to go towards new stuff.

Here are my Specs:
i5 3470
Asus p8h77-v
8gb Ram (1600mhz)
Corsair cx500
Zotac GTX 970 Amp Omega
Zalman z11 plus
128gb ssd
1tb hdd

your cpu and mb still fine. would wait for the next launch of cpu after skylake is out to buy. haswell and skylake are only a little faster in games then your older cpu. the only part that weak is the cx power supply. look at a good 550-650w unit from seasonic or xfx.

Ok thank you very much but wouldnt my cpu bottleneck with the 1080? and how much would u think id be able to sell the 970 for?
