Should I upgrade this year

Currently on an i7 3770k@ 4.3. I mostly game on my PC. Should I upgrade to skylak-e or wait for cannon lake or even longer than that. Planning on vr and I run 1440p on sli 780ti. Thinking of upgrading that as well later this year. Only been back into pc for about 5 years. Had this rig for about 3. Wat would you do?

Cpu wise you are fine. For the gpu side i would wait to see what pascal and polaris are bringing to the table.

Generally skylake was a disappointment. A full tick tock circle and nothing essential to contribute. I would wait probably for skylake-e or something.

I have currently made one upgrade from Sandy Bridge to Skylake, my next upgrade is from FX8350 to Skylake my current I5 3570K is still holding its own with GTX970 and will not get upgraded this round.
Really no need and can wait a generation.
