Should I upgrade to gtx 970?

Hi guys,

I built my computer last year and bought a Asus gtx 770 2gb last year. Recently I bought a second screen (both 1080p) but I still only play games on one screen.
Though I often watch Twitch or YouTube videos on the other screen and I have remarked a drop of fps. I currently have an opportunity to buy an evga gtx 970 and I would like to know if it would suit my purpose? I have heard of it not to be truly a 4gb of vram so should I aim somewhere else?

at 1080p atm the 970 is the sweet spot or so most say so go and get it i think

I would make the upgrade as you will notice a change in fps.
