Ultimately, you need to "upgrade" to a whole new system.

Your current system uses DDR2. You can't just put in DDR3 RAM.
Among all the other problems with your system.
You also need to check on the PC or motherboard maker's website to see if they have released Windows 7 drivers for that model, otherwise some devices may not work. They probably have released Win7 drivers for it, but don't take it for granted - - check first, otherwise you could be scouring the internet for weeks trying to find compatible drivers.

Whilst Windows 7 does have a good driver library built in for many popular components & devices, you'd have to be very lucky indeed not to have to provide at least a couple of them from other sources.

And you'll definitely need more RAM - 4GB minimum for decent performance in general use (ie not gaming).
