I have a AMD a6 3600 processor and I was wondering if it would be of great benefit if I upgraded to a i7 like the 4790
I use my computer for video games and like the best performance

Specs:
AMD a6 3600
12GB DDR3 ram
1TB hdd
Nvidia GTX 650ti
520 watt power

I would like to know it the computer will gain more fps in video games and other things I use my computer for. I also want to know if it will it be a huge upgrade from current processor.

I don't want to buy a grapics card right now because the one I have is really good and I know that the processior is the computers weak point so that's what I need I know I need a motherboard but a heat sink comes with the processior beacuse I could go with stock cooler i don't think that that would cause any problems.

nvidia gpu's are best with intel cpu's
amd gpu's are best with amd cpus

so buy i5 or i7 whichever is in your budget

you can see youtube videos here

amd cpu fx 8350 and nvidia gtx 650 ti far cry 3

intel i5 3470 and nvidia gtx 650 ti far cry3
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EUU2EKkaCg0

you will notice that intel cpu and nvidia gpu in combination have better visual quality and realism
than amd gpu+cpu also with amd gpu+itel cpu

it will work fine but they consume more power
for example amd 8 core cpu can't beat intel 4 core i5
while intel using less power
