Should I upgrade?

Hello everyone.. I am currently gaming on a windows 7 machine with a 1440p monitor with the following rig..

UserBenchmarks: Game 104%, Desk 112%, Work 82%
CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K - 93.2%
GPU: Nvidia GTX 980 Ti - 108.6%
SSD: Samsung 850 Evo 500GB - 107.6%
SSD: Samsung 950 NVMe PCIe M.2 256GB - 185%
SSD: Samsung 850 Evo 250GB - 106.5%
HDD: WD WD30EZRZ-00WN9B0 3TB - 56.3%
RAM: Patriot PSD48G24002 2x8GB - 87.4%
MBD: Asus MAXIMUS VIII HERO


I have a couple questions.

1. Should I upgrade? I was considering building a new rig with a 8700k CPU and 1080ti GPU.

2. Will there be a noticeable increase in my gaming experience if I upgrade?

3. If not, are there components in my current build I should upgrade and stick with my current setup?

Are there any problems with your system, that you think upgrade is necessary?
Only thing to consider at this point is GPU upgrade (and only if you upgrade monitor to 4k).

There are no problems with the system, no. I was just trying to make sure all my components were peak for gaming.

I have considered the 1080ti for 4k gaming, my main issue is the move from my 1440p monitor at 144hz, to a 4k monitor and losing that refresh rate. Anyone comment on this?

This depends on games played.
Shooters benefit more from high refresh rates. Rest of games will benefit from higher resolution.
