Should I upgrade?

Hello everyone,

For some years now i'm using a i7 920 with the P6T Mobo Deluxe v1. Through the years I have done some upgrades like a new videocard memory and hdd's. As I remember everything was fine until last year when I got Battlefield 3.

Every time I was playing my game would lock up with around 7 to 20 min. I got a new videocard thinking that was the problem(Asus 560TI-OC) but no difference, changed my memory back to my old memory, switched out some ram modules thinking it was maybe a memory problem but nothing seemed to help. I was able to play longer though without playing onboard sound and use a Logitech USB headset. Eventually I stopped playing BF3 and played some other games... But the Lock-up(Screen freezes with sound sometimes jamming) issue returned with some games like Guild Wars2. I also tried BF Bad Company 2(I never had any problems with it before) and had lockups with that as well. Also used a fresh SSD with a fresh windows 7 + GW2/BF3 and still the same issue.
Anyone know what could do this? And if so is it fixable, have I been doing something stupidly wrong? Please help me and let me know.

I thank you in advance!

Thank you for your reply,

1. Temperatures have always been okay for both CPU/GPU

2. >> I haven't been able to test the PSU(this is why I suspect this might be the problem)

3. I had 3GB "1600 of OCZ RAM working without any problems (However when i tested this ram later again after the problems with the new ram it still locked up). But I wanted to upgrade so I got the Kingston 12GB Highvalue Ram which I separately tested as well before, also this time with Memtest but it could not complete the test, cause it would lock up again.

Is the only way to know if my PSU is the problem by swapping in a different one?

I forgot to mention i have also tried to fix the problem by updating my bios but this didn't help either :<

I'm using the Cooler Master Realpower M700 right now. Going to order a new PSU today, if that's not going to fix the problem then I really don't know what to do anymore. I guess I could come to the conclusion, that my Mobo/Cpu is damaged or w/e

Lets hope for a miracle tomorrow ;p

So far I have been using my my PC with a new PSU for like 5 days, so far I only crashed once with BF3 while alt-tabbing.

I guess it was my PSU after all.... :na:
