Hello,

I've recently build a new pc, but I kept my old GPU and now I'm wondering if I should replace it and what I should get in it's place? I was hoping you guys could help me out!

My new build is a:
i5 7600k,
Msi z270 Gaming Pro Carbon
2x8gb corsair vengeance ram
evga 750w 2g
970gtx g1 windforce (from old pc)

I should mention I am using a acer predator 144hz g-sync monitor 1080p! I frequently play: WoW, Overwatch, Witcher 3, Rainbow six Siege and Arma 3.
And I just feel like my 970 is not really getting the best results and is not using this monitor to its full extend.

Thanks in advance, Jay

Give it a few days as the RX 580 will be out very soon and might be a good option as it is likely going to outperform the RX...
Price range?
Solid upgrade: GTX 1060 6GB
Great upgrade: GTX 1070
If you really want to guarantee hitting that 144fps get the 1070 and overclock it a little bit.

Thanks for your response.

There is no rush really, the 970 gets the job done for now. I'm just looking for a card that matches up with my other components. And that 144hz easily (maybe even 1440 in the future). I'm a bit of a future proofer.

The 480 looks nice, but I think it's not that much of an upgrade even though its price for performance is great. Have you had experience with crossfire?

I Would like to know if you have more suggestions.

I'm willing to go the extra mile to get a card that matches up with my other components and is somewhat future proof. I would really like it to hit that 144hz out of the field. But something like a 1080 ti is just to insanely expensive. I'd say any price under that is possible.

Give it a few days as the RX 580 will be out very soon and might be a good option as it is likely going to outperform the RX 480 and GTX 1060 although i don't think the GTX 1070 would be within it's reach judging from the leaked specs.

Other than that i would personally go for a GTX 1070 if you are looking for more Performance with a 144 Hz G-Sync Monitor, an AMD card wouldn't be a good choice since you lose the G-Sync feature on the Monitor. a GTX 1060 6GB is capable of running most games at 1080p High/Ultra at 60 FPS but a GTX 1070 would be a better choice for the high refresh rate so you can get 144 Hz stable in most games without compromising any AA or lowering settings to do so. Hope this helps :)

Thanks for your advice,
It helps alot.
I was also looking at a gtx 1070, but will it run games that are coming out in the upcoming years good as well?
I think my build is quite good for the coming years, I'd like my GPU to fit right in there. Hope I informed you enough to be able to give some more advice!
