Should I use a PCI or PCI-E GPU

My Specs-
CPU- Intel Pentoum (Don't know name) 2ghz
4gb DDR2 RAM
No GPU
Biostar G31-M7G-DVI

I recently took a computer off my Computer teachers hands that he was going to e-waste. The Motherboard has 2 PCI Expansion Slots and 1 16x PCI-E Expansion slot. If I wanted to get a graphics card should I get a PCI or PCI E? Please leave your suggestions. Also there is nothing wrong with the computer.

PCI is a much much slower bus than PCIe. if you need a second screen to display a slideshow a PCI card is fine, for anything more taxing get a PCIe card.
