Should I use a ups or surge protector

So I just built a new pc few months ago. Plugged in 1080p tv as my display output, but when switched other electronics on or off, screen went off for a second and turn on again(only pc signal). Then one day, mobo's hdmi output stopped working(failed). Vga works perfectly without any problems on old monitor. But i just bought a gtx 1060, and plugged tv as output on gpu's output, now it's happening again. What should i do to not lose gpu's hdmi port? A friend suggested ups, but I think about getting cheaper Surge Protector to give it a shot...

Solution
I always recommend a UPS with Surge and AVR.

But I think your problem is probably with your HDMI cable. You might have more luck just buying a better one.

okay bro, I just ordered amazon basics hdmi, I am currently using terabyte hdmi and I checked its review on amazon and there were people who had same problem only with terabyte hdmi cable so it maybe could be hdmi cable issue.

thanks man, it was actually bad hdmi cable, new cable doesn't have any problem and works like charm. I will never buy cheap cables like terabyte which can ruin expensive pc parts..
