Hi,
Currently I have a D-Link modem which is configured in bridge mode which then connects to my ASUS RT-N56U through ethernet cable. My ASUS RT-N56U is then configurated in its router mode, with NAT, Firewall etc enabled. Currently I struggle with online gaming due to lag. My brother has a PS4 and I have an XBOX ONE and we both play COD: Black Ops III. Im wondering if i were to configure my modem into its normal mode, i.e. NAT, Firewall, DHCP etc, would my ping improve.

Something about this doesn't make sense to me. Why would you use the dlink in bridge mode when it is wired to the new ASUS router? If this is how it is set up, you have a configuration problem. Alternately I am misreading your post. The dlink, it seem to me, should be in access point mode with the Ethernet cable connection to the LAN port on both ends. Please provide some more details.

As I read it, the DLink is a modem/router in bridge mode (modem only), passing the public IP address to the Asus. This allows the Asus to solely perform NAT.

To the OP: If you are connected wirelessly to the Asus, you may get better performance / ping response by using a wired connection.
