I have been considering disabling hyper threading due to the fact that I haven't been getting as good fps as I would have wanted. I have asked a few of my friends for their opinions and I have had conflicting answers. The main games this is for is Battlefield 1, Rainbow Six Siege and Insurgency Sandstorm.
Specs: GTX 1070ti
Intel i7-6700k

Solution
BF1 likes 8+ threads, expect it to run noticeably worse with HT disabled on quad-core CPUs.

Straight quad-cores are approaching end-of-life in modern games.

turning off hyper threading may slightly help single core performance, but some games may make sue of those 8 threads, have you overclocked your 6700k much?
