Should I use my tv as a monitor?

Solution
Yes, you can use the TV as a monitor, but you will not be happy with the resolution. Monitors are designed to display text in a sharp manner; TVs are not so sharp.

Good deals can be found on 'Black Friday 2011'; not far away.
Also, I plan on putting my tower on my desk, as it's a pretty wide desk. My question is, I made a custom window in the shape of a scorpion on the side panel, and it's got some bright blue cathode lights. Should I put it on the right side or the left? I just don't wires all over the place in front of my monitor for my keyboard and mouse.

Yes, definitely on Black Friday. Last year I got about 30% off on WD HDDs that I had my eye on. Will get some more this year!

Some stores (Best Buy) open at 5:00 A.M. and entry numbers are given out at 4:30 A.M. in preparation for the stampede! Online shopping is your best bet. Order online and pickup in-store after a couple of days. Some (or most) have free shipping.

I never go to stores. I only shop online. I find usually that stores have incompetent employees, mainly some snot-nosed teenager that acts like he is God, when he can't even figure out what hyperthreading is (actual thing happened to me at Best Buy).

That's why I suggested online shopping. I bought two WD 1 TB Caviar Black drives (2 separate Best Buy online orders). One was an in-store pickup by me, and the other was UPS delivered to my home. The invoice on the home delivered one turned out $1.27 cheaper because of some different sales tax computation!

I never heard of Myrtle Beach, SC, being an academic center! Other things yes, but not a place to do serious studying! :)

Miss the seafood buffets! And the Calabash food!
