[SOLVED] Should I use SLI or not?

I have 2 GTX980s. I have 3 monitors. On my center monitor, I often play World of Warcraft, and occasionally other games. On my outside monitors, I watch videos and use applications; nothing too graphics intensive.

I currently have the cards SLI'd together and running all 3 monitors. Would it be better to run the center (gaming) monitor on a card by itself and relegate the outside monitors to the other card?

Non 3D stuff like videos usually use the cpu and not the dedicated gpu. I see no benefit switching off sli, how much performance you would loose will depend how well your games support sli.

Why not try it and see.

Leave them SLI. While SLI support is very low these days, set ups where different monitors are different GPUs really don't work like people think they should, and your secondary monitors are running applications that take less than 1% GPU anyhow.
