Hi, I have had a 240gb kingston hyper x 3k ssd since early june I'd say. The performance hasn't gon down in any way as far as I can tell, but I've heard of TRIM. Do I need to do it? Or does windows 8.1 ( my OS) do it automatically? also, in windows disk viewer or whatever its called, it says 234 days since last "optimization"

I remember turning off automatic disk optimzation when I got the ssd cause I thought it would try to defrag the ssd, which I thought is very bad for an ssd. How do I get windows 8 to use trim on it?

Not sure about Windows 8.1, but in Windows 7 it should just be enabled by default, so I would think that Windows 8.1 would be the same. Also not sure what the "windows disk viewer" is, but I'm pretty sure whatever optimization it's referring to isn't TRIM.
