Question Should I Use UEFI Or BIOS?

I have a HDD, that is partitioned with MBR. In the BIOS settings, I can select between UEFI and BIOS. Currently its on BIOS mode with the old line by line display. I want to use UEFI. Will my HDD no longer work if I choose UEFI? I can't format it because I got some important data on it.

My Specs:
Zebronics H61 Motherboard
Core i3 3240
4 GB DDr3 RAM

Why do you want to use UEFI? Do you spend a lot of time in BIOS(?)
Your Windows will no longer boot if you switch it. UEFI requires a GPT boot partition.
