Hello, I'm currently waiting on my CPU and GPU to arrive from Newegg to finally start building my first PC. I'm thinking since all I have all my components (except CPU and GPU) should I start building the PC ? So when the CPU and GPU get here is a matter of just installing them and done! The package will arrive tomorrow or Friday morning.

What do you think ? Are there any down sides for doing this ?

Just wait.

It's better to have all your components on hand and ready before you begin. I know that a few more days might seem like an eternity, but it is best practice to have all your components before starting to build.

If it was just the GPU I would say go for it, but the CPU and CPU heatsink are typically some of the first main pieces of hardware you want to install, and are often easier to attach to the motherboard BEFORE it is installed into the case.
