Hello,
First of all, there are some posts related to this, but they are posted 3-4 months ago and I want to hear your new ideas.

I want to buy
MSI GT76 TITAN DT 10SGS-095TR I9-10900K 64GB DDR4 RTX2080 SUPER GDDR6 8GB 1024GB (2X512) SSD+1TB 7200RPM 17.3 UHD W10PH NOTEBOOK
this laptop in the middle of january 2021.

But I don't know whether I should wait for RTX 3080 or buy it in January.

What should I do, when will MSI launch a new laptop with RTX 3080 or 3060?

Thanks

Elros

RTX3060M is expected to have a very similar performance to the 2070S on laptops. That is the best bet.
RTX3060,3070,3080 of mobile versions will perform with little or no difference on laptops. So, if you can get a good deal of the 2080S, you will be fine. However, if you wait for 6months or 8, you would get that 2080s laptop cheaper.
I highly recommend everyone to skip the 30xx series entirely on laptops and go for second hand 1660ti cheap if you really need a laptop ATM(can be found from 400usd) while waiting for the 30xx S series or 40xx where things will be settled down.(Like 60W>85W>115W RTX LAPTOPS)
Nobody knows how they will perform considering that they will be restricted massively and the only brand that can handle that much power is MSI AFAIK.
RDNA2 laptops are coming as well, despite not having DLSS, AMD promises similar performance with NVIDIA who has mastered the laptop GPUs. I assume AMD-powered laptops might actually for the first time be competitive and reduce the pricing of RTX laptops.

TL;DR: Unless you have a very good deal, delay any laptop purchases until 2022. This Gen GPU's are revolutionary in desktops, problematic on laptops.
