Should I wait for the RYZEN 3000 and pay extra money for it

I was going to build a ryzen 2700X setup this week but I saw the rumors about the new 3rd gen ryzen coming to light in CES Jan 2019 And I don’t know when it be released in markets . In my country the taxes are going to increase starting from Jan 2019 with 5 to 15% higher prices.
There are 2 big problems if I waited for the new generation:
1- if the 3rd gen ryzen doesn’t come out I will have to buy the 2nd gen build with a higher price in the next month.
2- if it comes out but won’t ship until the late Q2 or Q3 of the year I will also get the 2nd gen setup with the higher price (compared to present pricing).
I also heard rumors that say the 3rd gen won’t be in the market until after Computex which will be in June.
So should I wait in the hope of releasing the 3rd gen ryzen in market in the next 3 months or should I get the 2700X build right away? Thank you in advance.
Note: (I can wait until april)

Was watching a video on this today, on YouTube there is a guy called tech deals. You might look up his live broadcast from last night. He doesn't seem to think there will be anything specific about it in January.

If you wanted to save some money, if you can get the 1700x, you can get a lot of the same performance for less. In the United States I think the 1700x can be had for about 130-160 us dollars as they clear out inventory. Then that would hold you over, and maybe buy when the ryzen 4000 series comes out, as that would theoretically drop into a motherboard you buy today. Get a solid b350/450 board, or an x470, and overclock in the mean time.

One thing is with 3rd gen ryzen as well the low end 3rd gens will be roughly the same price range as 2nd gen now and the performance differents wont be leagues better the only one that will be better will be top range 3rd gen and it has been rumored to be in excess of 500 dollars

I don’t want to upgrade for 5 years at least. so I picked the 2700X with 1080 ti and I’m going for 1440p gaming and ofcourse gonna learn some animation and rendering applications so I will pick their top of the line right now or wait for 3 months to pick the new gen cpu. If i got you right then there is still some time until the release of a new gen and I’m not gonna wait.
Bottom line : I will buy the 2700X setup this week or the next one , but please if you have any more information tell me about it so I could decide.

R_1 is right in what he says the differences between a 2700 vs 2700x is about 10 percent and the 2700x is about 80GBP more and since your planning on changing to 3rd gen next year it would be wise to spend less on your current upgrade.

I’m not planning to chang. I’m planning to stay with my setup for the longest time it will survive so that why I picked the 2700X over the 2700 though I know the different isn’t that big but with precision boost 2 things change.

Another thing to consider is the TDP on the 2700 is 65w and the 2700x is 105w this means more heat and power consumption do you have enough spare power for it as well because you do not want to be pushing your PSU to 100 percent draw 24/7.
