Hi guys..

I need some advice, I'm deciding if i should buy the RX 570 now or wait it out but the GTX 1060 is cheaper £188 and the RX 570 is £205 on amazon.... I want to invest in my freesync really badly but £205 for a RX 570.... LOL

My gpu is on it's last legs, It's hanging on for me so i can buy a new gpu, Pretty much desperate, I'm not rich, The £188 is ok for me but i'll be sad in the long run because i didn't wait for the RX 570 price to come down because of this mining.

What do you think i should do, Before anyone starts slapping me in the face when i tell you what cpu i'v got, I'll be building a new Ryzen 3 pc in the next few months... Pretty much this gpu is for the Ryzen PC, iv got a FX 6300, I know there will be massive bottleneck but like i said ill be building a new Ryzen 3 PC and I'm desperate for a gpu, I was looking at a 1050 ti, Its around £136 but it's like 3-4% better then my HD 7950... No point.

Solution
The GB windforce 2 1060 is £189 , it's a better choice than the zotac mini.

& yeah at the price the 570 is just too expensive mate really.

ooooooo you are in a soup friend. And not long ago, I was in the same situation when one month ago or thereabouts I quit waiting and bought a 1060 6GB at above launch price. But in my case, 570 was nowhere to be found. And, in all honesty, I would have still gone for 1060 if the prices are same. The reason is that at 1080p, 1060 is more in competition with RX 580 and not 570. I also happen to have a freesync monitor.. lol

Anyhoo, going by my experience, I would put my 2 cents and say its better to buy that 1060. Reasons:
1) Its not competing with 570. 570 should be a lot cheaper than a 1060
2) Freesync can be used with the next graphics card once these miners have made enough money. hehe

You know, freesync helps the most when you are getting below 40 FPS in games. I am not saying the games running at 60 FPS dont need freesync. Of course they do, but we can only do what our budget allows. In my opinion, I would just go for 1060 as paying a premium for freesync (in your case, its a lot) does not make much sense. Plus, I am now used to having Physx and ansel and shadowplay in my games and I keep telling myself that I made a very good choice. And in a way, I did because I did not lose performance but saved a lot of money which I put in buying more games for myself..

BTW, how much is an RX 580 8GB at your place?

Do you know what Freesync monitor you want? There are loads of displays with the Freesync label that actually only support 40-60hz, or 45-75hz. With such a narrow operating range your games just aren't going to sit nicely in that FPS bracket very often. If that's the sort of display you were considering, then Freesync is just not worth it and you're better getting the 1060.

If you are looking at a broader Freesync range, then you could make a much stronger case for the 570. I suspect you'd have to drop roughly a detail setting from the 1060 (e.g. the FPS from "very high" on 1060 would require "high" settings on the 570), but that's certainly a respectable trade-off to get adaptive sync. Not everyone would take that trade off, but I suspect I would, given the choice.

Curse the miners though, because at normal prices an 8GB 580 would be a no-brainer for you. That sucks!

Dammit, I'll be going to the dark side, It's £17 from £188 to £205... Should i go for the 1060?, It will be the 3gb only because it's my budget and the RX 580 8GB is £270 and the 1060 6GB is £240, The 1060 3gb has got gone down £8...., The 1060 is the mini one .... Dammit, I wanted the double fan
