I have a really outdated pc and am looking to upgrade, but I keep seeing everywhere that gpu prices will go down or they are releasing new cards soon so should I wait or should I just go for it? I am building completely from scratch.

Solution
Right now the cost of building all but a low end GPU 1050/1050ti machine is the only cost effective build.

I think it hopeful thinking that the next gen of GPUs coming out will drive down prices since its the crypto miners inflating prices and unless they suddenly decide not to buy up the next wave of cards we'll be in the same boat as now.

You can actually buy a pre-built cheaper then you can build one so if you want a mid-high range PC you may want to consider looking at one of the builders out there. NZXT has started building computers and apparently only charge a 100 dollar build fee, Xidax also has good prices.

Gpu prices are so messed up at the moment.I bought my 1050ti in november 2017.It cost 2.6k.Now its 3.6k.If i knew that i wouldve went for the 1060 rather and saved out for a psu.The 1060 are 5k for the same msi gaming x 3gb one where it was 3.6k in november.
