I have an SSD in an old system and was planning on putting it in a new computer. I've heard about issues where drivers from the old SSD conflict with newly installed ones for a newer system. I want to keep all my files but don't want to run into issues with the new system. Any advice on whether I should wipe the drive or just put it in as is?

Is this a secondary disk? If it is, you don't need to wipe it first, just make sure it's not in the boot order in the BIOS.

It's my boot drive. How would wipe it?

Copy the files you need to another drive, or better yet, keep this drive for backups/storage and get a new SSD for the new build for a clean Windows. Then no worries about you missing or forgetting about something you needed to save. If you re-use this drive, after the backup is done, during Windows setup you can select and delete the old partitions and install Windows on the disk.

Thanks for all the responses. I saved my data to a usb drive and am waiting for my new system to post before I fresh install windows.

I wiped the drive and deleted the partitions, adding a fresh install of windows. Everything was fine until I noticed one drive downloaded files from the old system. Should I be worried that this will cause driver issues? The only files it seems to have downloaded from one drive seems to be just old minecraft server files and pictures.
