If you are worried about power consumption, you can always wait for a RTX 3070. Its cheaper to start, and it uses a more reasonable amount of power.

I honestly cannot recall which one, but either Jayz or TechYes was just discussing this on the recent video about the capacitors.

You should be concerned about electricity usage on the card, as well as for the AC unit compensating for the additional heat.

Depending how much you play.....and what your bill normally looks like. Due to our air condition I wouldn't even notice any gaming caused difference....

I never thought that gaming and video cards have a big impact on my electric bill.....

Running washers and dryers, air conditioners, those things really have an impact....

i7 4970k GPU: GTX 970,
The 970 consumes 300 wats under load

The 3080, 350 under load

Leaving a difference of 50 watts.

Running 10 hours a day, 7 days a week, at full load, with an electricity cost of $0.12/kWh...
That is an extra $22/year, over your current 970

Adjust for your local electricity cost.

if you live in canada it's not a problem, the heat produced by the card will reduce electric consumption from the baseboard heaters. so no additionnal cost for the next 6 months lol (if your home has temperature-controled heaters)

gosh winter is coming !
