Should my mobo or cooler software control my CPU fan?

My Gigabyte z370 Gaming 7 motherboard wants me to let the mobo control the cpu fan, and my Kraken x62 wants me to use the cooler software to control it. Which way is suggested? Is there an advantage in using one over the other? Can I simply disable one of them in the BIOS or cooler software depending on which one I use?

With no responses I thought maybe I asked a dumb question with an obvious answer, but I seriously don't know. Is it recommended to allow the motherboard or Cooler software to control the cooling of the cpu? Will there be any conflicts if I don't disable one of them?

Your motherboard should have software built in. That's what I would use. You can access those setting by booting into bios.

Just be sure to use a system fan header to plug your cooler pump in and not a molex adapter, that way your pump RPM will ramp up along with your fan speed when temps increase.
