Should my PC be able to run games like For Honor at 60 fps on high settings?

I've had this PC built for me I think about 2 years ago and it ran pretty much everything I played well. Now that I've expanded my list of games, I find that it struggles with running games like; fallout 4, Battlefield 1, and For Honor. When I mean struggle I mean that it can't run these games on like medium to high graphics at 60 fps. When I play these games, especially Fallout and For Honor, I have to play at low settings, and even then I don't get a smooth 60 fps.

Specs:
Processor: Intel Core i5-2400 3.10GHz
GPU: GIGABYTE R9 270 WindForce 2X OC
Ram: 16GB ram
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

Should my PC be able to run these games like I want them to, or am I being unrealistic? If I'm being unrealistic, then what is my problem? If there is something I need to upgrade, what is it? Maybe something in my system is plugged wrong?

Thank you for reading and I appreciate any answers/ suggestions.

For Honor's "recommended"(not minimum) requirements are:

CPU: Intel Core i5-2500K | AMD FX-6350 or equivalent
RAM: 8 GB
OS: Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 (64-bit versions only)
VIDEO CARD: NVIDIA GeForce GTX680/GTX760/GTX970/GTX1060 with 2 GB VRAM or more | AMD Radeon R9 280X/R9 380/RX470 with 2 GB VRAM or more

The cpu may not be the k version, but should still be fine. Your memory is obviously fine. If money is an issue, I'd suggest at least upgrading your video card to possibly a gtx 970 or an rx 470/570.
Well, 2 years ago that CPU was already 5 years old and the GPU 3 years old. You've pretty much reached the end of that system. However, you could upgrade the processor to an I7-2600K or 2700K and/or upgrade the graphics card to probably a 1060GTX 6GB version. Just ensure your PSU is sufficient.

Alternatively you could build a new system.
