I have to re install my windows 10 because i have to reactivate it but it doesn't work from hardware changes. My friend from i IT class said to do the free upgrade our class gives us to Windows 10 edu. But i kinda want to keep windows 10 home. Should i go with the free upgrade to win 10 edu or use a media creation tool to reinstall windows 10 home?

I would reinstall as per their advice, use the key they gave you as it might not work later on (it should but better safe than sorry) and then you can upgrade it to educational once its installed... (I suspect its a different licence so might be enough to give you the changes it makes to version).

At least that way you have 1 licence saved to your use. Should also follow this before swapping to edu

I am unable to figure out if you can upgrade home to edu. It may tell you in the install instructions or you can ask the school.

reinstalling win 10 home wouldn't fix deactivation, you need to contact Microsoft and explain what you did and they might reactivate it for you. Since latest version of win 10 you can move licences but you are meant to do some steps before it will let you move.

Educational is only free until you finish at the school, the school may inform MS after you graduate and then it will deactivate.

I would get win 10 home fixed up and then you can decide to upgrade to Educational if you so wish and still have a Home licence when you are finished with it.

I did contact windows 10 support and they said i need to reinstall my windows. Then tried to pull the good old "I need to access you computer" crap.
They also gave me a key for home . So should i just re install win 10 home or use the edu upgrade? My school doesn't deactivate the EDU after course.
