Question Should the Corsair rm850 I be loud

Right so I had an rtx 2080 super for Christmas with an Corsair RM 850I and for some reason it always a strange clicking/buzzing sound and sometimes you can hear it over the game the power supply is supposed to be quiet

no it shouldnt , its completely silent

plug your psu directly to the wall plug , try another wall plug in a different room and use a different cable and see if it makes a difference

Yeah I’m going to get a replacement probably tomorrow I Feel bad as it was one of my Christmas presents

Thats not fan noise , your fan wouldnt kick in even at load , you have alot of headroom your psu wont feel like its working even at full load , you can change the fan profile using ilink software given you have connected the psu to the usb 2.0 header on your motherboard , also you have a fan test button on your psu

I also not iced the pc was hot even when I wasn’t using it

you have to be more specefic than that , which part of the PC ?

the power supply was hotter than usual it auto corrected btw

thats not normal specially if its turned off , you have hardware monitoring on that thing , so it would be benefecial to see what are the temperatures are at , make sure that all your connections are well seated as well

I replaced it and it still makes it but not very loud
