Question should the noctua dh 15 be good enough for new ryzen 7950x?

id much rather have an air cooler than water cooling and im wondering

Hey there,

The Noctua is a decent cooler no doubt, and does reasonably well with a 5950x. With that said, the 5950x is a 105w CPU (yes, we know it draws more than that at load), but the 7950x is a 170w CPU. Big jump. Whilst I'm sure it could cool the 7950x okay, setting any OC/PBO or Project Hydra or something might push that cooler.
