[SOLVED] Should this upgrade be ok?

Cpu:ryzen 3 1300x
Gpu:gtx 1050 ti
Power supply:650W
MoBo:Ab350-hdv

With those components I was looking for upgrading my cpu for the ryzen 7 1700 since the price has droped now and it is still a really good processor and I was just looking for a confirmation that the upgrade should work with no problem . I was also wondering if this upgrade would let me gain fps for lowering my resolution ingame , because I cant do that at the moment.

I wouldn't get a 1700 ever if I was looking to game. The clock speed is so much slower and if you add a good enough cooler to oc it a 2600/2600x are a good bit cheaper and will outperform it

You might gain a few but in many cases your 1300x oced will beat a 1700. Csgo/fortnite/overwatch type games for sure.

In any task that uses less than 4 threads fully loaded. The 1300x can usually oc to 3.7-3.9 on stock cooler. Which the 1700 simply can't match on all cores

u dont buy ryzen7 to get higher FPS with gtx1050ti..
your r3 1300x with gtx1050Ti is a solid build.

unless you planning to get something like 1070 or 2060 or better only in that case u need to up your CPU even than r5 at most or move to intel of gaming is all u want.
