I am currently running an i7 8700, RTX 3070, and 16 gb 2666mhz ram.

I have a b360m, my version cannot support ram faster than (correct me if im mistaken) 2999mhz.

I also believe i cannot get any processor better than a 9th gen intel.

what should i do, looking into the future?

Your actual config is fairly good for a gaming PC, unless you have problem with fps dropping or other significant issue, you probably won't need to upgrade right now.

BTW what is your SSD/HDD setup?
nothing great, it was a prebuilt so it has a crappy adata 480gb ssd, and i put in a 4 tb HDD, but i was thinking of getting something like a 970, 980 pro to put the system on

Are you using all the ram you have now?

How full is the ssd?

Just to pick around the edges.
Proper bios and drivers.
Don't run unneeded background stuff.
ssd is around 230gb full, leaving about half.
all drivers are installed and up to date, idk how to update bios i can look it up.
and i do try to keep background usage at a minimum
