Should you use SP or AF fans to pull through a filter?

So I have an Antec case with 3 layers of (filtering).Fan doors/grills, dust filter, and the front of the case. I changed the case fans with some Corsair Quiet Edition fans. When I installed them, they sounded exactly the same as my old Antec Fans. I though SP were only for radiators, but i guess filters would work too right? When i take off the front of the case, they are silent. When i put it back on, its kind of loud. So the question is, should I buy SP fans and will that reduce the noise from my setup?

Solution
i dont htink it will have any real effect on the sound levels beyond the different fans' noise levels. the noise you're hearing is turbulence. regardless of the type of fans, pushing air through all that restriction makes noise.

you could use fans with lower rpm, slower air will make less noise, but it may not be enough to push through the restrictions.

as for sp vs af fans, static pressure is not just for radiators. its just better at pushing through restrictions as a whole. however, i would not suggest changing to them just because unless you're already having problems with air flow. i do not see why they would be any quieter.

and the quiet edition fans you have run quietly either through a lower rpm or fan blade design the...

and the quiet edition fans you have run quietly either through a lower rpm or fan blade design the reduce the noise they themselves make. it doesnt refer to how the air they push interacts with the rest of the machine.

For obstructions like this I usually use SP editions.

But like stated it won't reduce noise the AF QE would be the less noisy of the two.

Keep the Quiet's.
