It's showing I have 2 active Ethernet Connections when I only have one port for Ethernet and it's not even in use because I'm on WiFi.

What is going on here and how do I fix that?

And it shows 0 Byte send / 0 Byte received, because it is not in use, but the driver is installed. The IP address is a Windows generated Address for cases like this. Pleas post make / model of motherboard / PC notebook and we will find out, why there are two.

nope, this is actually a fresh install of WIndows 8. Reset it less than a week ago.

Well, somehow you manged to install a vpn-stack. It might be a software you installed or a virus. Search for "TAP-Windows Adapter V9" to get hints how to uninstall it.
