shut down problem

Hello...i recently built a AMD Athlon with a Socket A motherboard A7M266....i installed an 98 o/s on it....the problem is that i can't shut down....once i try to shut down, it would reboot....i just want to know the source of this dilemma...is it because of the BIOS or the power management....PLEASE HELP!!!!

It sounds like a software problem. Check what programs are running when you try to shut down using Ctrl-Alt-Del. Sometimes even a corrept audio file at exit can make win98 hang.
